Eighteen Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioners, in the Saldanha Bay Municipal area, are being privately funded to receive accredited training, designed to upskill and improve formative education for young children, in preparation for formal schooling.

Xabiso Mfabana, from the Eastern Cape’s Cookhouse community, is part of a cohort of young graduates from the Wind Turbine Service Technician (WTST) programme.  He has also recently taken up employment with Suzlon, Cookhouse Wind Farm’s Operations and Maintenance Contractor, and partner, in this joint development initiative that is providing skills training for youth in the wind power sector.

EIMS Africa’s portfolio company, Umoya Energy Wind Farm, situated on the West Coast (Western Cape), has taken the lead on improving the country’s wind industry approach to conserving avifauna. Previously known as Hopefield Wind Farm, the country’s first REIPPPP project, the wind farm has successfully implemented blade painting, as a mitigation measure.
