Purpose of the Internship Programme
The South Africa Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) intends implementing Wind Industry Internship Programme (WIIP) on an annual basis. The WIIP is to provide young professionals who have recently completed a degree (or those undertaking graduate programmes) with the opportunity to gain practical work experience in line with their studies or interests, and expose them to works related to sustainable energy solutions. In preparation for this programme SAWEA intends to create a database and a pool of qualifying applicants that will be called upon for further interviews and placements.
Focus Area of the Internship Programme:
The wind industry has a diverse set of skills required on a daily basis and therefore the focus will be on the following broad skills areas:
Engineering, Power, Energy, Climate and Green Growth; Finance, Private Sector, Infrastructure and Industrialization; Economic and Development, Statistics; Governance and Knowledge Management; Human Resource and Corporate Services; IT, Language Services, General Service and Procurement, HR Management, Law; Communication & External Relations; Public Relations; Environmental, Town Planning and Social Scientists; Gender Studies.
