The South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) is hoping to convince Eskom to conduct an independent technoeconomic assessment of whether there is potential to extract more capacity from the constrained grid in the Cape provinces after none of the 23 wind projects that participated in the most recent public procurement round were appointed as a preferred bidder.

Two high school learners from the communities of Humansdorp and Patensie, have been selected to receive bursaries to attend Marlow Agricultural High School in Cradock and will begin their studies this week. This forms part of an agricultural bursary programme aimed at providing financial support to promising young high-school learners, who have an interest and passion for agriculture.
