Miché Absolom (14) is a talented netball player from Noupoort, who was selected to represent the circuit in the Winter Games in Upington as part of the U-15 Northern Cape Provincial School Team, which took place last week. With sponsorship from Noupoort Wind Farm, the Eureka Intermediate School learner has shown remarkable dedication and skill in her netball career and has since been chosen to represent Northern Cape in Benoni.
“We recognise the importance of supporting young athletes and empowering them to achieve their dreams. This achievement is a testament to Miché's hard work and passion for the sport and we are proud to be supporting her,” stated Sandisiwe Mntonintshi, Noupoort Wind Farm Economic Development Manager. Thanks to the partnership between Noupoort Wind Farm and the Save the Noupoort Child initiative, Miché received various forms of support to enhance her performance and experience during the Winter Games. The funding provided included a full netball kit, as well as a monetary contribution towards her expenses in Upington. "My school and community hold a very special place in my heart as it is where my entire netball journey began, which is why I am determined to go out there and give my absolute best," said Miché. Mrs. H. L. Gous, Netball Coordinator at Eureka Intermediate School, expressed her deep appreciation for the sponsorship. She mentioned that the news of this young athlete's selection to represent the circuit in the Winter Games in Upington came as a delightful surprise, bringing tears of joy and gratitude. She added, "We have the utmost confidence in Miché's abilities to bring pride not only to herself but also to her family, the school, and her sponsors."
