A celebration of Community, Commerce, and Culture in Ceres

Witzenberg enjoyed its annual two-day market, attracting both residents and visitors. This beloved event provided a space for small businesses and entrepreneurs to present their products and services, encouraging community spirit within Ceres, Bella Vista, Nduli, Prince Alfred Hamlet and nearby areas, and helping to boost local tourism.

Featuring a diverse range of goods, including new, recycled, handcrafted, and pre-owned items, this event provided attendees with a unique shopping experience.

“The annual market embodies the spirit of community and celebration, bringing together residents and visitors to enjoy all that Ceres has to offer. We are proud to support such initiatives that enrich the lives of our community members and showcase the talent and diversity of our region," expressed Gwynne-Lee Economic Development Manager for Perdekraal East Wind Farm, which funded this event in collaboration with the Witzenberg Municipality.

During the event, attendees were treated to performances by local artists and groups such as RJ & LK, Vuvu Khumalo, and the well-known local band, The Majestic Sounds. MCs Wayne McKay and Pastor Cycil De Kock also brought energy and charisma to keep the crowd engaged.

Furthermore, Witzenberg Excellence, the event coordinators, ensured that families were catered to with a dedicated Kiddies Corner featuring lucky packets, waterslides, and jumping castles.

"Each year, the market consistently inspires community spirit, bringing a vibrant atmosphere and uniting individuals in shared festivities. We are proud to have been part of such an event, as it not only stimulates local businesses but also provides a platform for artisans and vendors to grow, while also strengthening community bonds," concluded Cairan Idion of Witzenberg Excellence.
