The South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) proudly announces its accreditation to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP28, in the United Arab Emirates.

Recognising the role of social development in shaping the future of young minds, an initiative aimed at reducing school dropout rates by helping learners make better choices is now in year two of implementation. Facilitated by a qualified social worker, this initiative is designed to positively impact over 1000 learners, across 11 primary schools in the Eastern Cape.

Tablets were donated to the highest-achieving grade 7 learners at Loeriesfontein Primary School, aiming to motivate academic excellence. The tablets, made possible through the support of the Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms, were handed-over to the deserving learners during the school's graduation ceremony on 9 November 2023.

The EnergyDRIVE initiative, an educational endeavour established by the renewable energy industry, arrived in the Eastern Cape Province after a weeklong journey through the Northern Cape.

Almost three weeks after the EnergyDrive departed from the Mother City, it has returned to the Western Cape, after visiting 21 schools across the three Cape provinces, with a final stop-over at Swartland Secondary School.
