Local Primary School Receives Funding for Interactive Whiteboards
Creating a technology-rich learning environment, Concordia Primary School in Springbok has made significant strides in enhancing the quality of education for its learners. With funding from Kangnas Wind Farm’s ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) Grant, the school installed two interactive whiteboards in key classrooms, transforming the educational experience and fostering a more engaging learning atmosphere.
Driven by a vision to provide equal education opportunities for all, the school’s focus on integrating technology is part of a broader effort to ensure that all 659 learners have the tools they need to succeed academically, while also preserving their human dignity.
“The new boards are amazing! I can make notes while teaching, and the children are much more engaged, especially when we watch subject-related videos. It has truly changed the dynamic in the classroom, particularly in mathematics, where the school has previously struggled,” said Ms. Chante Van Wyk, a teacher at the school.
The interactive whiteboards are able capture students' attention through multimedia presentations, interactive lessons, and dynamic content, making learning more engaging.
"Education is one of our primary focus areas, and we are committed to providing the necessary resources that will empower both teachers and learners. The school’s application for funding was approved based on its alignment with this vision of improving educational quality,” said Rouchet Daniels, Economic Development Manager for Kangnas Wind Farm.
Overall, the boards promote a more dynamic and inclusive learning environment, fostering both student engagement and academic achievement.
