Vision for Wind power in South Africa: Supported by conducive policy and regulatory environment, wind energy will play an indispensable role in addressing local energy access and energy poverty challenges. As a distributed energy resource (DER), wind energy will help address local spatial inequlities by ensuring that marginalised and grid-deprived areas attain social, economic, and environmental benefits provided by access to clean and reliable source of energy.     

Why I love working in the Wind industry: While a lot has been done to place South Africa's wind energy industry on a growth path, there is still a lot of work to be done to address some of the pressing issues confronting the industry, such as further de-risking investments into the industry; ensuring fair and transparent grid access practices for wind projects and other complementary technologies; and coupling the industry's socio-economic benefits with the country's development trajectory.
