CHAIR VOICE – 2021 WRAP UP

Dear Members,

As we approach the end of 2021, we take a moment to acknowledge how blessed we are to be part of very few sectors in the country that are indeed experiencing exponential growth. With a decade of wind power in South Africa already under our belts, we are making strides to take up a far more significant percentage of the country’s energy mix in the next decade.

Our Association represents a united front that promotes a trajectory of new wind power generation in South Africa, in addition to laying out frameworks for our industry to make positive impact beyond the added electrons. This cannot be achieved without the dedication and stewardship demonstrated by the many Working Group Chairs, who lead the work of the Working Groups, for which are very grateful.

My thanks also goes to my fellow SAWEA Board Members for their leadership and support provide to our Association, to ensure that we perform at our best. I’d like to also thank the SAWEA staff for working diligently to make sure that we deliver on the objectives that we set ourselves at the beginning of the year. Last but not least, I would like to thank the members of SAWEA for your continued support of the Association.
