MOBILE CLINIC TO OFFER HEARING SCREENING FROM BIRTH

The mobile outreach programme in the outlying communities of Ebumnyameni (Donkerhoek) and Ocean View will soon be able to offer hearing screening from birth thanks to specialised equipment that was recently acquired. This is a service that will be done in conjunction with the visual screenings from six months of age, in a drive to pick up complications as early as possible and thereby avoid later more serious complications that affect quality of life and academics.READ MORE

WESTERN CAPE WIND FARM REMAINS ON TARGET FOR OPERATION END-JULY 2020d

2020 promises to be an exciting year for Perdekraal East Wind Farm as it heads into its final six months of construction.   The last of the 480 wind turbine components will reach the wind farm’s construction site early February 2020 and all 48 turbines are expected to be installed by early April 2020.

Noupoort drop in centres care for community children

Three child and youth drop-in centres together with a comprehensive community-based aftercare programme have been set up to provide a safe and stimulating environment for Noupoort’s community children. KANGNAS WIND FARM FIRST IPP SELF-BUILD TRANSMISSION SUBSTATION ON BEHALF OF ESKOM

Kangnas Wind Farm commenced the construction on the Groeipunt Transmission Substation in June this year.  This is the first time that an Independent Power Producer in South Africa has taken on the responsibility of a greenfield self-build Transmission substation, which would normally fall to Eskom to build.  Once complete the substation, which will enable the Kangnas Windfarm to have grid connection on the Eskom 220kV network, will be handed over to the national utility.READ MORE

EDUCARE CENTRE CAME FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS BUT IS NOW A SHINING STAR IN COMMUNITY

The Kruisfontein Educare Centre is well known to members of the Humansdorp community, but few are aware of its humble beginnings dating back 18 years.  Led by Florence Felix, this is the only pre-school in Kruisfontein and is now proudly run by qualified Early Childhood Development practitioners that recently graduated and where commended by the Provincial Department of Social Development.

Enel breaks ground on R6.4bn wind farms

Italian multinational energy company Enel, through its renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power RSA (EGP RSA), this morning announced it has started construction in SA of its R6.4 billion Karusa and Soetwater wind farms, with an installed capacity of 140MW each.READ MORE
