ENERGYDRIVE FINAL STOP-OVER TO TEACH LEARNERS ABOUT RENEWABLE POWER

The custom-built EnergyDRIVE truck wrapped up its three week journey with a stop-over in the Northern Cape’s Springbok area. The edu-vehicle, which features a solar roof structure, biogas digester, photovoltaic panel display unit as well as a solar hot water display unit, will provide a fun and impactful way for learners from Okiep High School to grasp the benefits and uses of renewable energy technologies.  This forms part of the Kangnas Wind Farm’s community education programme, which has a keen focus on Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.  READ MORE

AMAKHALA EMOYENI COMMUNITY FUND TRUST – LIGHTING THE COMMUNITY OF COOKHOUSE

On the 06 August 2021, Cennergi and the Amakhala Emoyeni Community Fund Trust (AECFT, the beneficiary of ED and SED funds from the 134 MW Amakhala Emoyeni Wind Farm) in Partnership with the Blue Crane Route Local Municipality did an on-site inspection of the erection of thirty (30) solar powered street lights. They are doing this with the aim to light up some of the most vulnerable parts of Cookhouse in order to prevent crime and promote safety.

ENERGYDRIVE ARRIVES IN THE WESTERN CAPE TO TEACH LEARNERS ABOUT RENEWABLE POWER

The custom-built EnergyDRIVE truck will spend three days, hosted by in the beautiful Witzenberg area, to teach high school learners from Ceres and its neighbouring communities of Nduli and Bella Vista, about the benefits of renewable energy technologies.  Funded by Perdekraal East Wind Farm, learners will also have the chance to visit their local wind farm and experience the technology up close. READ MORE

BURSARY TO SUPPORT TERTIARY STUDIES FOR COMMUNITIES ACROSS THREE PROVINCES

Aimed at providing access to tertiary education for learners in beneficiary rural populations, BTE Renewables (‘BTE’) and Thebe Investment Corporation (‘TIC’), through their renewable energy project companies, jointly launched a new bursary programme, reaching fifteen community-based secondary schools.  The programme, which kicked-off simultaneously across three provinces, included a two-day engagement initiative, with stakeholder delegates in the regions participating in the inaugural event.READ MORE

The custom-built EnergyDRIVE truck is visiting the Eastern Cape and will engage with hundreds of high school learners, across eight different communities, to teach them about the benefits of renewable energy technologies. Cookhouse Wind Farm is one of the wind farms that have funded this road show, in addition to opening its gates to host a field trip for learners from Aeroville Secondary School, a local Somerset East school.READ MORE
