This permanent role will be providing oversight of health and safety aspects of both of BTE Renewables’ solar energy facilities’ operation and maintenance (O& activities This ro le will be responsible for ensuring that the facilities are a healthy and safe place in which to work, that they comply with all Health and Safety legislation, regulations and BTE Renewables’ Health and Safety commitments This role will ensure a safe working environment and the prevention of any injuries and accidents through the continuous improvement of the Health and Safety Management System, with the intention of striving towards excellence This position is based in the Northern Cape, and will be responsible for Koonkonsies II, Aggeneys and MSP Solar projects Preference will be given to residents of towns closest to the project location in the Northern Cape.

Candidates should:
Have a Matric certificate.
Have a National Diploma/Degree in Health and Safety.
Have NEBOSH Certification is preferred.
Have 5 years of operations and maintenance experience in a similar role.
Be registered with South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP ), as Construction Health and Safety.
Have proven experience in Health and Safety Management System implementation and/or monitoring.
Have excellent report writing skills, and able to work remotely.
Understand electrical and mechanical lockouts, as well as managing permits through the GMR 2(1) & (7).
Have ORHVS competency will be advantageous.
Have exposure to renewable energy or mining sector is preferred.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
Required to possess a valid driver’s license.
