ANOTHER WIND FARM CONNECTS AS PART OF BIOTHERM ENERGY’S MEGA-PROJECT PORTFOLIO

Golden Valley Wind Energy Facility is South Africa’s latest wind farm to connect to the country’s national grid.  As part of the government’s most recent Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement (REIPPP) programme bid round, which is set to collectively add 1.3 GW of new wind power capacity, this BioTherm Energy project is helping the country to successfully transition to a greener energy economy whilst increasing the Energy Availability Factor.READ MORE

The year started with our advocacy in full swing and the with a strong PR campaign, while we were making plans to develop our Advocacy and Lobbying Strategy. Great news for wind and solar energy in South Africa

Wind energy will play a major role in the future of the South African energy grid.

This is according to Ntombifuthi Ntuli, who is the CEO of the South Africa Wind Energy Association (SAWEA).

Ntuli noted that the allocated annual capacity of 1,600MW to windpower will make up a total of 14.4GW of power supply by 2030.READ MORE

Maaitjiesfontein School Drawing Project (SED Project in Partnership with Roggeveld and Karusa Wind Farms, initiated by VER-BOLT (PTY)LTD)

SAWEA CEO Ms Ntombifuthi Ntuli was invited to participate in a selection and award to a winning picture / drawing from the work of the learners from Maaitjiesfontein School in the Western Cape, some 3 hours away from Cape Town near Roggeveld, Soetwater and Karusa winds farms. This event was successfully held on the 30th September 2020 and 1st  October 2020 at Maaitjiesfontein School, Ms Ntuli was represented by Mr Lindo Sibiya SAWEA Programmes Manager.
