Planned next steps in the Public Private Growth Initiative, following the industry’s 5-year plan as presented to Minister Dlamini-Zuma

Yesterday, representatives of 14 sectors of the South African economy met in Cape Town with the Minister of Planning in the Presidency, Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. The purpose of the meeting was to provide these business leaders the opportunity to present their respective sectoral Five-Year- High-Level-Growth-Plans, to stimulate the economy. Include ‘important’ nuclear in SA’s electricity mix, says Parly committee

The energy portfolio committee has come out in strong support of including nuclear power in South Africa’s future electricity mix.This is in stark contrast to the latest government plan for South Africa’s future electricity mix – the draft Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) 2018 – which contains no nuclear power because of its high cost.

This sentiment was underscored by speaker after speaker at the launch of Saretec this week.
