SAWEA operates as a common law, voluntary association. SAWEA is a not-for-profit association that represents the South Africa wind industry. Our members include national and international entities active in the entire wind energy supply chain. SAWEA holds an Annual General Meeting once a year. At the AGM a six member Board is chosen – from its ranks the Board chooses a Chair. SAWEA sublets office space in Parkwood, Johannesburg. Work on policy, the regulatory framework, logistics, events, markets, and other specialised subjects are done by volunteer Working Groups each having a Working Group leader. Coordination takes place through the SAWEA office and the work of Board Members, who also serve on the Working Groups.
