Mark Tanton is the Managing Director of Red Cap investments (Pty) Ltd, a private company developing renewable energy projects in Southern Africa. Red Cap was recently awarded preferred bidder status by the South African Department of Energy to develop an 80 MW wind farm. Â Mark Tanton has a B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and has been granted the title of Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by The Association of Energy Engineers (Georgia, USA). He was previously the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director of CEF Sustainability (Pty) Ltd, managing the implementation of a large basket of renewable energy projects in the Eastern Cape. He also worked for the Energy Development Corporation, a division of CEF (Pty) Ltd as Developmental Manager. While working at CEF Mark was responsible for the Darling Wind iphoto Farm within CEF, he also acted as a director on the Darling Wind Farm board. Mark was previously the chairman of, and is now a board member, of the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA).
